ABOUT THE BAND

The Pinball Wizards, an emerging musical ensemble, are swiftly making their mark in the vibrant music scene of the San Francisco Bay Area. Our dedication has led us to numerous hours of meticulous studio work, honing our skills in faithfully recreating the iconic sound of THE WHO. Our primary objective is to embrace the entire spectrum of the band's catalog, preserving the incendiary spirit that defines the most legendary rock 'n' roll act in history. This includes delving into their early works with a strong focus on albums like Tommy, Who's Next, and Quadrophenia.

Guitar & Vocals

George Keres

On February 9th, 1964, the Beatles made their U.S. debut on the Ed Sullivan Show, sparking a young boy's passion for music as he watched his sisters lose their minds in the excitement. Inspired, he embarked on his own musical journey, starting at 16 with a band called Down & Dirty, which even opened for blues legend John Lee Hooker. His musical path continued with experiences alongside blues great Yank Rachell, followed by ventures with Radio Ranch in the '80s, playing renowned venues in the San Francisco Bay Area and sharing stages with acts like Modern English. Successes kept coming with Phoenix, winners of the prestigious KSJO radio station Best Of The Bay Award, and The 22nd Row, recipients of MTV's Basement Awards. Amidst the Tribute wave, George rallied the finest musicians in the SF Bay Area to revive the music of THE WHO, birthing The Pinball Wizards. Along the way, he's had the privilege of playing with icons like Ronnie Montrose, and musicians associated with The Steve Miller Band, Huey Lewis And The News, and The Red Hot Chili Peppers. Now, he’s having a blast playing the music of THE WHO with The Pinball Wizards.

Drums, vocals, percussion, more cowbell

From a young age, Matt has been fixated on hitting things with sticks—from pinatas to cue balls, to his first drum set purchased at age 11 with "paper route money.” Matt's influences are as diverse (Krupa, Copeland, Tommy Lee, ++) as the groups with whom he has performed and recorded Big Janitor (East Bay Grunge), The Diablo Symphony, SkaBone, DVC Jazz Band and Kingdom of Dirt. Matt is currently keeping the beat steady and enjoying the rhythm of life while living in Sonoma County

Charles Theobald

Keyboards & Vocals

Hailing from the great state of Colorado, Charlie's range of instruments and musical styles has evolved through 4 decades of music.  From country to alt metal, and from funk to new wave, his tastes have always favored music and people that have an edge, but also groove. With a focus of "making music", not reproducing it, Charlie continues to inspire and channel the spirit of rock that The Who embodied.  Keyboards are utilized in this band to sweeten and saturate the power of this great band and genre!
